Meeting held at Pateros City Hall, and called to order by President, Judy Asmussen.
Sweet River Bakery provided lunch for a $7 donation.
Motion made, seconded and passed to approve minutes of last meeting as presented.
City Clerk, Linda Marsh gave the Treasurer’s Report, which showed a beginning balance of $3,203.45 and ending balance of $3, 188.90. The Report showed a deposit of $200.00 for Dues, and payments of $192.00 to the Chronical for the Info Book and $22.55 to Mary Pearson for postage reimbursment. Motion made, seconded and passed to approve Treasurer’s Report as presented.

Mayor's Briefing Report –
Mayor Gail Howe reported that the Counsel meeting was held last night. They discussed parking in the lots in town and possible City ordainances against overnight parking and parking of large 18-wheelers. They also discussed future parking along the railroad tracks.
School Briefing Report –
Several members of this year’s Pateros High School Leadership class were present at today’s meeting. They stated that they have several different projects going to improve the town, such as a greenhouse. For any input or questions, contact Mrs. Joy, the Leadership class teacher. Tracy Miller thanked the voters who supported the levy and reported that improvements are still going on at the school.
Guest: Nancy Trucano, Cascade Loop --
Nancy informed the Chamber about how the Cascade Loop Travel Planner promotes the Cascade Loop Scenic Highway by gathering and providing information to help visitors and travelers and working to access nature for them. She stated there will be a workshop in Leavenworth on May 7th and 8th . Their website, www.cascadeloop.com, has had 5,000,000 hits, so they are devoting a separate marketing plan just for it. Interactive maps have been added. They are in the processing of revamping their Travel Guide, including the ad for Pateros.
Guest: Keith Stennes, Stennes Orchard and Homestead –
Mr. Stennes gave the Chamber a little background about his new business that will be opening in Pateros. He said his grandfather came to Pateros on a boat in the 1800’s when the town was still called Ives Landing, then went up the Methow and homesteaded Mr. Stennes’ current home. He has exciting plans for Homestead, which will be in the former NCNB building in the Pateros Mall. They are in the process of a complete remodel and the business will include some commercial kitchen equipment. They intend to have as many homemade and home-grown products as possible, including fruits, vegetables, an espresso bar, coffee with their own label, tea, homemade ice cream with fruit toppings, and homemade gifts. They will also have a pizza kitchen, lunch and breakfast foots, fudge and chocolate and much more. He stated that his goal for opening is by June 1, hopefully during Memorial Day weekend.
New Pateros Business : Lake Pateros Sports Bar & Grill –
The owner of the new business, Keith Walstead, was unable to attend today’s meeting. Chamber President, Judy Asmussen, reported that the Lake Pateros Sports Bar & Grill will be opened March 1st and will provide a menu similar to the Wagon Wheel Bar & Grill in Malott.
Miscellaneous --
President Judy Asmussen read an email sent by the Harlem Ambassadors Show Basketball Team representative asking if the Chamber would be interested in booking them as a fund raising event in November. Judy asked if this might be something the Chamber would like to see and Vice-President Rebecca Meadows asked Judy to look into the cost and suggested that local Chambers might consider going in together if the cost was more than the Pateros Chamber could do on their own.

Annual Banquet –
Linda Marsh reported that the City will send out ballots in the next water bill. The Church has been scheduled for the April 28th event.
Apple Pie Jamboree –
Tracy Miller says there is nothing new at this time to report.
Dragon Boat Races –
Joni Parks of the Quad City Herald reported that she has been promoting the event in newspapers. Brewster is trying to put together a couple of teams, as are Brideport and Mansfield.
Hydro Races –
The dates for the Hydro Races are different than stated in last month’s meeting. They will be held August 16 and 17. Mayor Gail Howe made a Motion to change the dates of the City-Wide Garage Sales to the same weekend as the Hydro Races. Motion was seconded by Cheryl Schweizer and approved by those present.
Next meeting will be March 19, 2008.
