Project Description: Community Engagement Events, Planning/analyzing pedestrian/bicyclist networks, Preliminary Right of Way Activities, Preliminary Environmental Analysis, 90% Preliminary Engineering, Land Survey
Detailed Project Description: Within urbanized vicinity along US Highway 97 in Pateros, WA, approximately milepost 253.67 (Lakeshore Dr) to 254.52 (Pedersen Rd), conduct development/design-only work to identify active transportation solutions for the community, completing:
- Community outreach and engagement with residents and community leaders, with particular attention to: disability rights organizations, foreign language speakers, community liaisons/organizations, and businesses or property owners adjacent to or potentially affected by the project
- Utilize: focus groups and targeted design outreach
- Full topographic and property surveys
- Pedestrian, bicyclist and traffic counts; manual turning movement counts
- Modeling analysis
- Preliminary Right-of-way research/analysis, for at least one preferred active transportation solution
- Environmental research and Permitting analysis, for at least one preferred active transportation solution
- Develop designs for improvements meeting the primary need reaching 90% preliminary engineering. It is recommended that other improvement designs be developed to at least 30% to facilitate more competitive future construction grant applications.
